A Eurocopter AS350B3 Ecureuil helicopter broke the world record on 14 May for the highest-altitude landing and take-off. The single-engined aircraft flew to the 8,850m (29,000ft) summit of Mount Everest in Nepal, where it remained on the ground for more than 2min. The feat was repeated the following day.
