AlliedSignal Aerospace's Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) has been certificated by the US Federal Aviation Administration for use on United Airlines' Airbus A320s. United will evaluate EGPWS on 20 A320s and may subsequently install the safety device on its entire 560-aircraft fleet.
