The US Department of Defense intends to sell Egypt $246 million worth of aircraft, tactical missiles and fighter-aircraft upgrades. Egypt will update Lockheed Martin F-16A/B fighters to the Pratt & Whitney F-100-PW220E engine configuration before delivery. The aircraft are now powered by F-100-PW-200. The 40 retrofit kits will cost an estimated $86 million. Egypt also plans to buy two Gulfstream IV-SP business jets for VIP work.
