Elisra is demonstrating its integrated electronic warfare suite, IEWS, at the show.

The company (Hall A/935)says the suite integrates passive subsystems Ð RWR, LWS, MWS Ð and also employs an active ECM jammer, giving pilots full protection and improved situational awareness.

The system, which features integrated chaff and flare dispensing, is in service on helicopters such as the Boeing AH-64 Apache, the Bell AH-1 Cobra and Sikorsky S-70 Black Hawk among others.

The passive IR missile warning system, known as PAWS, discriminates a threat by its trajectory relative to the platform and by the growth rate of its signal intensity caused by its closing velocity.

The system consists of several IR staring sensors and one-system processor utilising threat detection, tracking and discrimination algorithms.

The self-protection jammer is a multi-channel jamming subsystem designed to operate in arenas dense with Western and Eastern radar-guided surface to air missiles, anti-aircraft batteries and aircraft interceptors.
