Order LOT Polish Airlines has ordered 10 Embraer 170s and taken a further 11 options for either the 170 or the larger 190 model, in a deal valued at an estimated $200 million. The aircraft will be delivered from January 2004. The carrier had been in discussions with Bombardier and Embraer about its fleet renewal plans for some time, as it evaluated the CRJ700 and 170. LOT will use the new aircraft to replace its four leased Boeing 737-500s and 14 Embraer ERJ-145s, with eight of the latter expected to be redeployed to its EuroLOT subsidiary. LOT had been seeking to trade in the remainder of its ERJ-145 fleet as part of its fleet renewal deal.
