Embraer delivered 20 E175 regional jets in the first three months of 2014, the company announced on 16 April.
The 75-seat-class E175 was the only version of Embraer’s four regional jet designs now in production to be delivered to a customer in the first quarter.
The 20 deliveries were slightly outpaced by new two orders for a combined 22 E-Jets signed during the first quarter.
As a result, Embraer’s backlog increased by two aircraft to 454 compared to the end of 2014. That number includes firm orders for 210 E-Jet E2 aircraft, which introduce new wings and the Pratt & Whitney PW1700/1900G geared turbofan engines.
Embraer plans to continue delivering E-Jets at a rate of 90-95 per year, or roughly eight per month through the transition to the E-Jet E2 family that begins in 2018.
Embraer also delivered 12 business jets in the first quarter, including 10 light Phenom series jets and two Legacy 500 aircraft.
