Embraer has secured its launch customer in Latin America for the Phenom family of light jets, with an order from Brazilian charter operator ABC Táxi Aéreo for one Phenom 100 for delivery in the first quarter of 2009 and one Phenom 300 for delivery a year later. ABC operates three Embraer Xingu twin-turboprops. Meanwhile, Embraer is taking the Phenom 100 mock-up (pictured) on a tour of south-east and mid-west Brazil. "Latin America is a key market for the Phenom 100 and 300, where we expect that more than 50% of business jet deliveries over the next decade will be in the light and very light categories," says Luís Carlos Affonso, executive vice-president, executive jets.
