Embraer has won one of the first fractional ownership-style programe sales for its Phenom 100 with a deal with US charter operator Gold Aviation Services.
The Ft Lauderdale-based company has ordered five Phenom 100 very light jets to be offered under a management and charter programme that allows customers to own half an aircraft. The contract includes options for 10 additional Phenom 100s or larger Phenom 300 light jets.
The Phenom 100s are scheduled for delivery at monthly intervals beginning in August 2009, and Ft Lauderdale-based Gold says it has already sold the first aircraft. The company’s programme offers full ownership for $2.89 million, with fixed operating costs of $20,000 a month, direct operating costs of $500 an hour, and guaranteed annual charter revenue of $240,000. Half ownership costs $1.5 million, with charter revenue of $120,000/year and fixed costs of $15,000/month including crew, training, insurance and maintenance tracking.
