Emirates will start codesharing on selected Jetstar and Jetstar Asia services from 6 April after the carriers signed a new agreement.
The agreement will see Emirates place its code on 18 routes operated by Jetstar in Australia and 10 operated by Jetstar Asia. As a result, Emirates will add six more cities to its network via the codeshare, while Emirates Skywards loyalty scheme members will be able to earn miles on Jetstar services.
“This agreement will see us bring our extensive Asia Pacific network consisting of some of the most popular leisure destinations, to the doorstep of Emirates passengers across the globe,” says Jetstar group chief commercial officer Lisa Brock.
Emirates already has an extensive international alliance with Jetstar’s parent airline Qantas Airways. The Dubai-based carrier had indicated in December 2012 that a codeshare and interline arrangement with Jetstar and Jetstar Asia was being looked at as part of that alliance.
