TYPE CERTIFICATION OF the Chilean-designed Enaer Namcu (Eaglet) two-seat trainer, is under way and is expected to be completed, by the end of 1995.

The aircraft will be certificated in the Netherlands, to European and U S standards, by Enaer's Dutch partner, Aviation Maintenance. The Chilean manufacturer has been flying the Namcu for six years as an experimental aircraft. It has built two prototypes.

Enaer says that it plans to build 50 aircraft a year, selling them chiefly to the flying-school market for around $100,000 each. The all-composite aircraft, which is powered by an 85kW (115hp) Lycoming engine, may also be supplied in kit form.
