The Bedek division of Israel Aircraft Industries has ended its 747-200 cargo conversion programme, citing the level of demand for its 747-400 Special Freighter (SF) modification programme, writes Arie Egozi in Tel Aviv.

It recently completed the conversion of its 38th 747-200 – a Northwest Airlines example – under its Federal Aviation Administration-approved supplemental type certificate.

Conversion slots for the 747-400SF programme in Bedek’s facility at Ben Gurion International airport in Tel Aviv are fully booked until 2009.
