The much-delayed launch of the Space Shuttle STS 69/Endeavour took place from the Kennedy Space Center on 7 September. The 11-day STS 69 mission, with a five-man crew will feature the deployment and retrieval of the Spartan and Wake Shield free-flying spacecraft and a 6h space walk to practice space-station construction activities.
