UK leisure carrier Jet2 has selected CFM International Leap-1A engines to power its incoming fleet of up to 75 Airbus A321neo jets.
The deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, includes spare engines and a long-term support agreement.
Jet2 is currently a Boeing 737 operator and has been a CFM customer since 2002.
“We are pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with CFM, who have been a key partner of our continuous growth since our creation,” says Philip Meeson, executive chairman of Jet2 plc.
Meeson says the carrier will increase its use of sustainable aviation fuel in the Leap engines.
Jet2 in August 2021 placed a firm order for 36 A321neos, with a further 24 aircraft covered by options, topping that up with 15 additional firm orders in October.
