Boeing has appointed international affairs senior vice- president Lawrence Clarkson to head its new Enterprises Unit, created to handle the company's growing non-traditional businesses. Boeing will initially use the unit to manage the Boeing Business Jets venture. "That's the best example of the type of enterprise we will pursue," says the company. The general aim of the unit is to develop acquisitions, joint ventures "-and other kinds of business relationships and new technologies which can be spun-off or developed by other companies", it says.
