Ethiopian Airlines is to order 12 Airbus A350-900s and five Boeing 777-200LRs.
The carrier has detailed the order in a statement, adding that chief executive Girma Wake has signed a "definitive agreement" to purchase the 777s and a memorandum of understanding for the A350s.
Ethiopian says deliveries of the A350s will begin in 2017, and those for the 777s in October 2010.
All A350s are currently only available with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, while 777-200LRs are exclusively powered by General Electric GE90s.
