Alenia Spazio and EADS Space Transportation have signed the shareholder agreement for their Euriss joint venture, which will become the European Space Agency's sole industrial contractor for the operation of the European elements of the International Space Station (ISS).

Euriss will be controlled by EADS Space Transportation of Bremen, holding 75%, and Alenia Spazio of Turin with 25%. The signing follows a €170 million ($225 million) contract received in 2004 by the two companies covering the production of six expendable automated transfer vehicles to carry supplies to the ISS.
