Flight International online news 11:30: Australian sales and product support company, Hawker Pacific, has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification.

The news should allow the company access to a broader range of offshore maintenance repair and overhaul work.

Hawker Pacific’s vice president, Quality and Systems, Jim Pilkington, says “Obtaining this certification represents the realisation of a key objective in terms of Hawker Pacific’s long-term strategy to become the premier MRO and avionics support organisation in the region.”

The EASA Part 145 certification follows a substantial audit of the company’s Queensland facilities by the French DCAG. It is the first Part 145 Certificate in Australia that is not an upgrade/conversion from a JAA Certificate.
