Eurocopter has clinched UK Civil Aviation Authority single engine instrument flight rules (IFR) approval for the EC-135 twin turbine helicopter. The approval is expected to lead to new orders from the UK corporate and emergency medical services market for Eurocopter's Oxford-based distributor and completion centre, McAlpine Helicopters. The EC-135 already has single pilot IFR approval throughout Europe and has chalked up more than 200 orders.
