Eurofighter flew four Typhoons in formation for the first time during last week's Farnborough air show. The display was led by the BAE Systems-built Typhoon IPA1 instrumentated production aircraft and included the UK company's DA2 and DA4 development aircraft and EADS Germany's DA1. To reduce the impact on the development flight test programme, DA1 operated from Jever in northern German where it has been deployed for a series of test flights. Meanwhile, Austria is keen to finalise its €1.79 billion deal ($1.82 billion) for Typhoons by the end of September.
