Thomson-CSF and Siemens are seeking European regulatory approval for a new joint venture teaming their air traffic management activities and creating the largest ATM company in the world.

The new company, Airsys ATM, will be owned 60% by Thomson CSF and 40% by Siemens.

Airsys will have bases in France, UK, Germany, Australia and the United States. and a customer base stretching over 160 countries world-wide.

The joint venture will have a complete range of products and systems in air traffic management, ranging from radars, control centres, navigation aids, airport turnkey systems and involvement in the new satellite technologies such as navigation and surveillance (CNS-ATM).

Airsys will employ 1,600 people and has planned revenue of Ff2.2billion ($370million).
