Eurotech and the US Air Force are to demonstrate Acoustic Core technology to detect explosives non-intrusively. The technology could be used in various US force protection roles and to screen cargo. Acoustic Core detects illicit materials and builds a three-dimensional view of a container's contents, using rapid bursts of acoustic energy to identify explosives' acoustic impedance, sound velocity and absorption properties.
