Taiwan's Eva Air plans to purchase up to 24 Boeing 787-10s and two additional 777-300ERs, in a deal worth more than $8 billion at list prices.
"We look forward to welcoming EVA Airways as Boeing's newest member of the 787-10 Dreamliner launch customer group," says Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and chief executive Ray Conner.
The Taiwanese carrier told Flightglobal earlier this year that it was deciding between the 787-10 and Airbus A350-900 for its medium to long-haul needs.
Eva already operates more than 37 Boeing aircraft, including 21 777-300ERs, says the airframer. With the airline's latest planned orders, the carrier will hold orders for 15 777-300ERs, five 777 Freighters and 24 787-10s. The new order will post to Boeing's backlog once finalised.
