Belin exits SAS

Sören Belin, one of the architects of last year's restructuring at SAS, which saw the airline going from a centrally run operation to become four individual carriers, is to leave at the end of May.

The restructure effectively reduced Belin's responsibilities, which made his de facto chief executive role, where he was in charge of airline strategy and co-ordination, less relevant. These tasks were devolved back to the chief executives of the four carriers. Belin chose not to take on another role offered by SAS Group president Joergen Lindegaard.

Executive vice-president John Dueholm, head of Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses will take on group management responsibility for the airline businesses within SAS.
