Skywest recruits from Qantas group

Paul Daff, who was head of commercial at Jetstar Asia, the Singapore low-cost carrier managed by Qantas, has become chief executive of Perth-based regional Skywest Airlines.

Daff's appointment coincides with a split of Skywest into two units. Daff takes over the scheduled passenger service known as Skywest Airlines while Hugh Davin, former head of Skywest business development, becomes chief executive of charter operations, named Skywest Aviation. The business is about evenly divided between scheduled and charter services, with the latter operating Fokker 50/100s under contract with mining companies.

Before Daff worked for Jetstar Asia in Singapore he was with Qantas in Sydney.
