Valuair chief quits

Sim Kay Wee, chief executive of Singapore's Valuair, has resigned after just over eight months in the job. Sim cited "personal reasons" for his decision to depart from the airline, which only started operating in May last year. Sim joined Valuair after a 30-year career with Singapore Airlines. Valuair chairman and founder Lim Chin Beng will act as chief executive until a permanent replacement is found. The airline is one of three new carriers to have started operating in Singapore last year, the others being Jetstar Asia and Tiger Airways.
