Canadian maintenance, repair and overhaul provider ExelTech has appointed Sylvan Duval as chief executive officer as part of an overhaul of the company's management team initiated in 2008.
In September of that year former Air Canada and Airbus North America executive Robin Wohnsigl was named interim CEO of ExelTech after the post was vacated by Derek Nice.
Duval joined ExelTech in April 2008 as COO and was named to its board of directors in March of this year.
During an interview with ATI in April of this year Wohnsigl said Duval was close to taking the helm of the company.
During the last year ExelTech has adopted lean initiatives and expanded its scope to Embraer E-170/190 heavy maintenance. US regional operator Republic Airways Holdings was the launch customer for ExelTech's E-Jet maintenance programme.
In addition to Duval's promotion ExelTech named Stephen Hops as VP operations with responsibilities for supply chain, quality assurance and training, continuous improvement and customer relations.
