China has delivered two Xian Aircraft MA60 turboprops to Air Zimbabwe, and it has secured a contract with Air Fiji for the sale of a further MA60, writes Leithen Francis.The first two MA60s were delivered to Air Zimbabwe on 4 May, representing the first overseas sale of the of the 56 to 60-seat aircraft, which is an updated version of the Harbin Y-7 – itself a development of the Antonov An-24.Air Fiji's contract is for one MA60, which means the airline has dropped an earlier plan to lease a second Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia for domestic and short-haul international services, says the airline's commercial manager, Shaenaz Voss.

Meanwhile, deals to sell further MA60s to customers in Eritrea and Congo are being discussed.
