EXTRA FLUGZEUGBAU'S NEW SPORTS AIRCRAFT, the Extra 200, has won seven orders within two weeks of its maiden flight (Flight International, 10-16 April). The first prototype aircraft was shipped to the USA on an experimental-aircraft certificate within days of becoming airborne. Extra says that two US orders were received before the prototype had even been completely re-assembled. Four more orders were received at the Sun 'n Fun show in Florida, on 15 April, the first day of the show. Extra says that it has also received an order from a German customer. The Extra 200, powered by a 150kW (200hp) Textron Lycoming AEIO-360, is a smaller, cheaper, development of the well-established Extra 300 aerobatic aircraft.
