Flight testing of Block 3S avionics software for the Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor has begun in Boeing's 757 Flying Test Bed (FTB). The software allows fusion of data from radar, electronic warfare and communication/navigation/identification sensors. It is an early version of the Block 3.0 release that must fly in the F-22 before the end of the year for the programme to receive production funding. Block 3.0 will increase sensor fusion and add weapons delivery capability.
