The US Federal Aviation Administration has certificated six more models - the Euro-copter AS 365, AS 332L1/L2 and EC 135P, the Bell 407 and 430 and the Agusta 109E - to use Honeywell's latest version of its Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) for medium and heavy helicopters. This takes the number of certifications for the Mark XXII EGPWS to 10.

Also, Honeywell's Mark XXI EGPWS - for light helicopters with no radio altimeter - is now in its final phase of flight testing. The Mark XXII version features alerts for excessive descent rate, descent after take-off, take-off into rising terrain and slow descent into flat terrain or water.
