The FAA has downgraded South Korea to a Category 2 safety rating under the its International Aviation Safety Assessment program. It said Korea Civil Aviation Bureau (KCAB) safety standards are below acceptable levels. The move means the current service levels of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines to the USA are "frozen" with no expansion allowed for the timebeing.
