The US National Business Aviation Association has accused the Federal Aviation Administration of ignorance of general aviation in assessing the impact of proposals to require improved cockpit voice and flight data recorders. Although the FAA determined that the proposed rule would have no significant economic impact on non-airline operators, the NBAA says the cost could reach $70,000 per aircraft and exceed $1 billion for the US fleet.
