US airlines have been cleared to restart services to the main Israeli airport, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, after the FAA lifted a restriction on operating to the gateway.
Security concerns, notably a rocket strike near the airport, had led the FAA to impose the ban on 22 July.
But it says it has cancelled a NOTAM advising of the ban. The FAA says its action follows an assessment of the security situation in Israel and a review of "significant new information" as well as measures the Israeli government is taking to cut risks to air transport.
It adds that it will continue to monitor the "very fluid" situation around Ben Gurion.
European safety regulators have not prevented carriers from serving Tel Aviv but have advised against it.
