Regional jet manufacturer Fairchild Dornier has won a new five-year contract from EADS Airbus in Hamburg to continue producing Airbus subassemblies. The follow-on deal runs from 2002 to 2006 and has a potential value of DM500 million ($230 million).

Subassemblies to be produced under the new contract include the pressure bulkhead, sidebox with floor structure, rear section and tailcone for all single-aisle models; and the pressure bulkhead for the A300/A310/A330/A340 widebodies. The deal also calls for an increase in production rate from 26 to 30 shipsets per month.
