The new Fairchild FA2100 aviation recorder has a significant advantage over its competitors - it weighs only half as much says the company.
Tipping the scales at only 10lb (just under 4.5kg), the FA2100 is available as a Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR), Flight Data Recorder (FDR) or a combination of both.
The savings don't stop there either. Fairchild says it consumes 25% less power than equivalent units and needs no scheduled maintenance.
Its Mean Time Between Failures exceeds 20,000h and the FA2100's portable interface can download a full 128wps flight data record in less than two minutes.
