Cessna has selected Eaton Corporation as the complete fuel system supplier on the new Citation Columbus large cabin, intercontinental business jet. The 20-year contract is worth $100 million.

Eaton’s responsibilities will include designing, developing and manufacturing the complete aircraft fuel system for the jet, consisting of the electric fuel boost pumps, ejector pumps, flow control valves for fuel transfer, the refuel/defuel sub-system and the fuel quantity measurement system. The first flight is scheduled for 2011.

“This award strengthens our relationship with Cessna Aircraft and represents a new market segment win for our fuel systems business,” says Bradley Morton, president of Eaton’s aerospace business. “It also demonstrates the synergy and strengths of the legacy Argo-Tech and Cobham Fuel and Air Division acquisitions made in the past 28 months by Eaton.”
