Israeli defence company, Elisra has unveiled its first ever infra-red missile warning system for airports.
Creating a half-hemisphere protection, G-FORCE is the latest entry in the passive missile approach warning systems (PAWS) family .It features microwave sensors installed on high pillars to avoid ground obscuration. These sensors are spatially separated in order to enable precise tracking and ranging of the threat, using triangulation methodology.
The features allow PAWS to analyse incoming missile IR signatures and warn pilots of the direction, type and time to impact.
