Sagem Défense Sécurité is displaying its Euroflir gyro-stabilised optronics system for the first time. Euroflir has up to four optical and laser sensors, including a thermal camera, a high-definition colour television, eye-safe laser telemeter and laser pointer.

In addition to an infrared optical zoom, Euroflir also integrates full aiming capability for a wide range of current and future air-to-surface weapons.

 Euroflir

Euroflir was selected in early 2008 for the upgrade of the French Army Light Aviation’s Eurocopter AS 532 Cougar helicopters. It is also certified as the tactical FLIR for all NHIndustries NH 90 naval and combat search and rescue (CSAR) versions. The system was also selected last year by Eurocopter for the French Navy Panther helicopters.

Sagem Défense Sécurité’s, part of the Safran Group, says its optronic equipment and systems cover all armed and security forces’ operational needs, including piloting, reconnaissance, surveillance, alerts and sighting.
