Turkish Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding to co-operate with Vietnam Airlines, initially focusing on cargo.
Under the agreement, struck today at the Farnborough air show, the two carriers will co-operate more closely on cargo operations with a view to initially implementing a codeshare in 2023.
Star Alliance member Turkish is also studying a potential codeshare with SkyTeam partner Vietnam Airlines covering passenger flights linking Istanbul with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Turkish Airlines chief investment and technology officer Levent Konukcu says: ”Recovering from the crisis that pandemic brought to aviation sector, we all became aware of the crucial need of cooperation. We attach importance to expanding our co-operation with Vietnam Airlines both in passenger and cargo.”
