Wrought and cast copper alloys producer Bolton Aerospace, part of the Bolton Metals Group, is looking to grow its aerospace business from its current level of around 50% of group revenue.
Its products end up in bearings for landing gear, retainer cages and bushings and "all sliding and rotating applications", says Dean Falconer, sales manager UK and Europe.
The Ipswich-based company has its products appearing on the Airbus A380 via Japanese bearing manufacturer NMB Minibea and on the Airbus A350.
As well as Airbus, it is also an approved supplier to Boeing.
"Although our products are a tiny proportion of the materials on an aircraft, we'd like to think that we are one of the market leaders in our sector," says Falconer.
