China Eastern Airlines has chosen the CFM International CFM56 powerplant for installation on 30 Airbus A320s. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from March next year.
CFM values the agreement at $600 million at catalogue prices, and says the selection includes a long-term maintenance pact.
China Eastern and CFM disclosed the agreement during the Farnborough air show. CFM says the support deal will provide the airline with rate-per-flight-hour engine servicing.
