Flightglobal and the Financial Times have teamed up to produce two video debates during the show featuring leading industry figures discussing major issues facing the air transport sector.
The first debate brought together airline leaders Tim Clark and Willie Walsh, who head up Emirates Airline and International Airlines Group, respectively. Their discussion was moderated by FT aerospace correspondent Andrew Parker and included commentary from Airline Business editor Max Kingsley-Jones. Subjects tackled included whether legacy airlines can compete as the balance of power shifts towards the Gulf carriers and how infrastructure issues could hold them back.
Our day-two debate sees Pierre Vellay, partner at New & NeXt Consulting and the former head of fleet planning at Air France-KLM, and Eddy Pieniazek, head of Flightglobal's advisory arm Ascend, examine the impact of high airliner production rates on values and finance availability, and whether the new entrants can offer a real threat to Airbus and Boeing.
Both videos are available to view on the flightglobal.com and ft.com websites.
