Leasing company Avolon has tentatively signed to take six Boeing 787-9s, under an agreement it values potentially at $1.5 billion.
The Irish lessor has not given an engine selection for the aircraft.
Avolon disclosed the commitment at the Farnborough air show. The lessor also reconfirmed an order for five Boeing 737 Max 9s, which will be powered by CFM International Leap-1B engines.
"This order is consistent with Avolon’s objective to play a significant role in financing the next generation of aircraft for its global airline customer base," says the company.
Avolon's owned, managed and committed fleet stands at 207 aircraft as a result of the new agreements.
