Distribution and supply chain services provider Aerospace Products International (API) has formed an alliance with spare parts supplier Transworld Aviation FZE.

The two companies will operate a spare parts centre at Transworld's headquarters in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone, which will hold inventories of aircraft parts and other materials.

API and Transworld will also offer maintenance, repair and overhaul services.

"The alliance has direct access to the extensive MRO capabilities of API's corporate parent, First Aviation Services, which include landing gear, wheels and brakes; propellers and governors; electromechanical

components; hydrostatic testing and valve overhaul; auxiliary power units; heat exchangers; batteries; avionics and instruments; starter generators; and hose assembly manufacturing," say the companies.

"The API-Transworld alliance leverages the core competencies of two leading aerospace parts distribution and supply chain management companies to provide world-class products and services to our customers in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia," says Ahmed Metwalli, president and chief operating officer of API.
