Piper Aircraft has selected Italy's Mecaer Aviation to supply the undercarriage system for its PiperJet. The six-seat aircraft is set for service entry in 2013.
Mecaer is responsible for the design, engineering, certification, system integration and production of the complete "bolt-on" systems, comprising main and nose gears, electro-mechanical actuators, emergency release, wheels, brakes and tyres.
The Borgomanero, northern Italy-based company already supplies landing gear systems for the Eclipse 500, and Diamond D-Jet business aircraft and the AgustaWestland AW109, AW169 and Bell 429 helicopters.
