AgustaWestland has revealed details of its plans for the AW149 military medium twin as it works towards flying the helicopter for the first time in 2009. The 7-8t AW149 is to achieve initial operating capability by 2011. "We will unveil a full-scale mock-up at Paris next year," says chief executive Giuseppe Orsi. "There are several thousand of this class of helicopter around the world and a large majority will need replacing over the next few years."
