Original equipment manufacturer-licensed parts specialist Ontic (H4/F15) is at Farnborough to push its new strengths in electronics and avionics. The Californian-based company, which also has two manufacturing and MRO support facilities in the UK, has seen the two segments increase from 3% to 30% of its revenues in two years.

Ontic, which acquired GE Aviation's Fuel Measurement business in 2011, says it is now a "fully capable OEM in support of second- and third-generation electronics and avionics".

Ontic president Peg Billson says the company focused on the segments after recognising an increasing need for support of legacy electronics. "OEMs can now confidently partner with us to solve their legacy electronics needs just as they have for decades for mechanical products," she adds.

Ontic has established its electronics and avionics capability in two locations: Cheltenham, in the UK, and Chatsworth, California. The company has other centres in Slough, UK, and Houston, Texas, and will open another in Singapore later this year.

Ontic, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBA Aviation, has licensed parts manufacturing rights from, among others, Honeywell, Hamilton Sundstrand, Goodrich, Moog, Parker and Eaton.
