A group of leading industry manufacturers, in partnership with the Air Transport Action Group, has teamed up to produce the Beginner's Guide to Aviation Efficiency.

Launched here at the show, the guide seeks to explain in simple language how the industry operates, how aircraft operate and the technologies and work going into environmental initiatives across aviation. It is supported by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and Pratt & Whitney.

"We compete on technology and products but when it comes to the environment we find communicating about it and our commitment to action is in our best interests," said Billy Glover, managing director environmental strategy of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

"When we co-operate on environmental issues we do it for the greater good of the industry," said Helene Gagnon, vice-president aerospace at Bombardier.

The guide can be downloaded from the ATAG website
