Fuel Accessory Service Technologies (FAST) will formally open its new 24,000 sq ft maintenance and repair premises today at the Loyang Industrial Park close to Singapore's Changi Airport.

FAST is a joint venture between Singapore International Airlines Engineering (SIAEC) and Hamilton Sundstrand and it repairs and overhauls aircraft engine fuel components and accessories for major airline customers through Asia-Pacific including Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China.

United Technologies subsidiary Hamilton Sundstrand holds 51% of the shares in the company with the remainder being held by SIAEC.

FAST's general manager Jeff LaBranche says: "As this region and its major airlines rebound from the economic downturn, our company will continue to grow and prosper. We've also added some technical capabilities in-house that permit us to service components on an even wider array of world-leading engines including Pratt & Whitney's PW4000 growth engines and GE's CFM56-5."
