Fastjet Zimbabwe is to start flights at the end of October, having been granted an air operator's certificate by the national civil aviation authority.
The carrier is part of a planned series of Fastjet subsidiaries being added to the pan-African airline's Tanzanian operation, and will be the first of these to conduct services. Thrice-weekly flights between Harare and Victoria Falls will begin on 28 October.
Fastjet says the new entity will be designated as a Zimbabwean airline on "international routes to a number of East and southern African countries" and is set to "expand rapidly, creating a comprehensive network of domestic and regional destinations". The carrier obtained its air service licence in March.
Plans to start a subsidiary in Zambia await the outcome of an AOC application.
